It's been tough times for quite a while
People don't even know coz' of my fake smile
I don't talk about it with my friends
Coz' m just not sure if they'd understand

So i call her up when m upset
coz' only she sees what m looking at
And though we hardly talk otherwise
she has always been kind and nice
So i'll say it now as it is long overdue
my dear secret friend... thank you!

And times have been difficult to make any sense
and for far too long I have been on the fence
But she tells me stories and tries to explain
how love, in the end, always triumphs over pain

So i call her up when m happy
coz' she knows what it's like to be me
And things are still far from getting back on track
But the real smile is getting back
So i'll say this now instead of waitin' till the end
